We've been invited to witness the miracle of birth!
Expecting any day now... This baby has quite a kick!
"Do you think I look fat?"
Seven weeks overdue now.
The call came late, the evening of March 3rd.
Minnie is a 15 year old, first time mother, and two months overdue.
She delivered her foal in the snow. No one was there to witness the event.
The foal was not able to break free from the birth sack (amnion),
and did not get to take its first breath.
Minnie seemed to be doing fine, although understandably tired and stressed.
She also was in some discomfort. The vet gave her something for the pain.
Wish there was something to ease the pain that all of us are feeling now.
All we can do is offer a prayer for Minnie's full recovery
and to heal the hearts of those who love her.
