Saturday, March 26

It's Esther's turn to be in heat. So today the rugged mountain man took her to Curlew, WA.,
(A 4 hour drive each-way) to be bred with a Sisi-Bear's brother, "Cy" (AKC: Staranch Cyclone).
Both of their pedigrees are littered (pardon the pun) with champions from
Karolaska, Quibbletown, Gardezbien, Glenire, Four Oaks, and more.
He has the same wolf-like markings as Sisi which should be wonderful when
combined with Esther's beauty and great conformation (true to the breed standards).
Possible puppies in 63 or so days! Stay tuned...

Just getting there was half the fun.
It rained (finally, and yes we need it, but why today?) the whole trip.

Except for when it snowed.
This is near Sherman Pass.

When we got there, everyone came out to greet the bitch, er um, Queen.

Within minutes, Cy was hot on her tail, so to speak.

Esther seemed fine with the new dog, but might need another day.
How appropriate that new life would begin on Easter.

After a pleasant visit with our friends, Bruce and Marianne,
it was time for the other half of the fun...
getting back over the pass before dark, and another 4-hour drive.
I wasn't in too much of a hurry to stop and capture some deer.

Kettle River meanders peacefully through the valley.

Lots more snow on top.

Warning: Do Not Attempt!
Professional photographer and crash test dummy.
