Saturday, February 4
The kids were thrilled to be allowed to roam freely
all night long for the first time. Normally, they are
closed in a bedroom overnight to keep them out of mischief.
Hunter
The lake is no longer navigable.
As the snow melts away, so goes my excuse
for not finishing the deck project.
And the driveway once again turns into mud.
Feeding time has become an art in itself.
Here, the sheep pretend not to notice or care
that I am bringing in the dog food.
But left unattended for two seconds, the sheep will
zero in on the dog food and snarf up a mouthful.
Sissy will growl at anything that comes near,
but won't actually eat any herself.
Elijah will eat out of anyone's dish. Because he can.
So, we put Max into the second kennel, because he's not allowed
to have any of the sheep's alfalfa. And the dogs are separated
to prevent the sheep from getting into their food.
Another storm front is blowing through today.
Strong gusts of wind and a blustery 40+ degrees.
On this, the eve of Stupid-Bowl Sunday,
what better way to celebrate this manly right of passage
than with another match of Iron Schlepp America.
The excitement builds as we find out which vehicle
will be the donor in today's fierce competition.
The secret ingredient has been chosen:
The Edelbrock Carburetor!
No sense leaving this brand new hunk of chrome
under the hood of some rusted out relic.
We have our game plan. Looks complicated.
And not really a match to reality.
There are vacuum hoses and tubes connected
all over the place, and some that just dangle...
No matter, time's a wastin'. Just start turning those wrenches.
Moments later, the extraction is complete.
The object du'jur has been successfully removed.
And now to the recipient vehicle.
One quick turn of a wingnut exposes ...
that we do not have a match.
This is a two-barrel, electronically controlled
factory programmed fuel regulator. OOps.
Guess I should have started with the wingnut.
Well, that was a fun exercise. Now put everything back...
"Hi, honey. How was your day?"
(Find that peaceful spot...)
