On our way to Silver Mountain.
It's raining today, but it should be snowing up there.
Interstate 90 offers some nice glimpses of Lake Coeur d'Alene.
A scenic drive, perhaps 40 minutes from home.
1/4 mile off the freeway is the base lodge in Kellogg.
Home of the World's Longest Gondola.
The rugged mountain woman dropped us boys off.
She said she had better things to do. (?)
The gondola ride was indeed long.
It went up above the town. Right over the houses.
Up and down ridge lines. Then up and more up...
It was cloudy on top. Lots of snow.
I wanted to take lots of creative pictures.
But there was more important business to tend to.
Like discovering that you are not a "goofy footer" after all.
Like how to negotiate this "More Difficult" run.
(This is considered an intermediate run.)
They also have advanced, expert, and don't go there...
It snowed most of the afternoon.
At first it was light, fluffy, like goose feathers.
Then is was ice crystals, then finally just heavy and wet.
This is me just getting off one of the lifts.
Kellogg is also home to the world's largest car dealership,
and home to some clever artwork. This knight and dragon
are fashioned out of miscellaneous metal like wheel rims, ducting,
and engine parts. His helmet is a flood lamp housing.
That's the last photo from camera #2. Yup, I broke it.
Still no new baby sheep...
