No blizzard yet. The Mrs. takes a hike.

A favorite spot. These icicles are from a natural spring.

A creek runs along side the road.

A hawk watches over its territory near the meadow.

The eagles have been back to feed on this deer carcass.
Neighbors have reported seeing them early in the morning,
and have taken pictures and promised to share them.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

May I have this dance?

(White coat and tails.)

School is about to begin.
We call this lesson "Six Bowls for Six Girls".

There is much excitement as the school marm approaches the gate.

Everyone jostles for position. Each is eager to be first.

And they're off!

Moments later, after much head butting and spillage,
and following some ancient ritualistic protocol
involving age and relative mass,
each complex shift from bowl to equally filled bowl
ultimately results in a fair distribution.

We have been studying this pattern for months now,
and believe the number of permutations to be incalculable.

Well then, since it is above freezing,
and not snowing as predicted, we will now
demonstrate the art of board bending.

Sir Plank, meet Mr. BoWrench.

First, place a dish towel over the joist.
This will prevent the wrench from slipping
on wet or frozen joists, and provide for better leverage.

Place the wrench over the joist near the plank.

It may be necessary to tap it down with a hammer.

Pull the wrench towards the plank.

Pull real hard.

Then pull it some more.

When the gap between planks is acceptable,
hold the wrench in place while your partner
installs the fastener. (See previous demo.)

Move to the next joist, and repeat. (3,200 times.)

That's why we feel very accomplished when we install 10 in one day.
