The blizzard started last night.
I had planned to take the rugged mountain teen
up to Schweitzer to go skiing and boarding, but
he was unable to find a friend to come along...
Decided not to go alone. Maybe next weekend.

We received several inches during the night.
Just a few flakes now, and it is getting warmer.

The poopies were on duty.

The snow plow at the ready.

The motionless sensor.

Busy day ahead. Better get started.
I'd been hearing about those eagles, so I decided
to go with the Mrs. on her daily walk.
(With plenty of stops along the way...)

Snow hats, of course.

The North Idaho Dream, if you can afford it now.

When times were a bit more affordable.

With two cameras, we found ourselves shooting the same scenes.

Each from a slightly different perspective.

She would see it from hers...

and me from mine.

It didn't take long to be envious of her daily regimen.

Sure, it was exercise, and a daily chore.
But somehow, well worth the effort.

One of her favorite spots, the turnaround point in her walk.

Nice to finally see it from her perspective.

Frozen spring water is very refreshing on a long hike.

Some new neighbors. Baby black-bellies.

Our hawk escorted us safely out of the woods.

All across the valley you could hear them
firing up the tractors. Any excuse to go play...

This is what the county snowplow does to our driveway.

It's a long way up from the house through that slush.

My turn to go play with the tractor.

There is a real art to plowing one's driveway.
Then again, it is fun to not stay within the lines.

Moments later, the driveway is completely useless.
Mud. Yuk. Snow would have been easier to drive on.

Feeding time at the Agape Ranch.

Here they come, single file.

Chaos ensues, but there is one in complete control...

Super Poopie.

This deserves a cookie.

Or two.

Time to shovel the deck.

It's not just that which falls.

But what slides off the roof.

We pay the help well.

And we pay them often.

Just kidding. It's all volunteer.

Once again, the deck is swabbed.

It was supposed to be in the mid 30's today, and rainy.

Good day to stain some more planks.

The inspector thought she would help.

Better fix those paw prints, she said.

Another 20 planks ready to install...
