Some excitement in the south 40 this morning.
Elijah went out to investigate...

It was an eagle. They exchanged pleasantries.

Sunlight reaches the valley floor. Fog be gone.

The eagle came back again a little later in the day.

About as close as you can get...
without becoming its next meal.

Heard about a parcel of land for sale
just up the hill from us.

40 acres of "recreational" land.
That's realtor speak for "unimproved".
Meaning: No road, no power, no water, no sewer.
But it does have an out house.

This house was a work in progress, long since abandoned.

"Needs work." (Needs a match.)

I hiked up the trail to see the rest of the property.
Almost straight up, and lots of brush.

The view from half way was nice.

That's our lake down there.
Our house is just around the trees to the left.

Made it to the top. (Huffing, puffing, and wheezing.)
This is the view of the other side.

At $4,500 per acre, it's a bargain.
Except that the acres are mostly vertical,
and unless you have a very healthy horse,
a snowmobile, or an ATV, it won't be much fun.
