After being gone for 25 days in January, it was time
for another round of training. Off to Seattle, F5 HQ...
Early morning flight, a puddle jumper with snow on the runway.
A pleasant flight, a short limo ride, and a nice hotel.
This is my room. A "bayview suite".
And this is the view.
If you squint your eyes, or use a telephoto lens,
you can actually see the water.
There it is. Between the buildings.
Spectacular sunsets in Seattle.
Then there are the sounds of the city.
Trains, planes, and city workers.
How many workers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Never mind all of that. I'm here to learn.
The office is just a few blocks away...
F5 Headquarters.
My home for the next three weeks.
The campus is actually a couple floors in each of three adjacent buildings.
The famous f5 red ball logo.
Inside, a rather impressive "demo" center.
Yours truly. Tourist, newbie. All around good guy.
But most of all, a student. Learning about all those blinking lights.
A very interesting lab setup.
Totally virtual. VLAN soup.
Between the trains, hotel elevator, and utility crews,
I didn't get the best of sleep. (Sleepy in Seattle.)
These guys were installing some new power trunks for a new building.
It was interesting to watch them work.
(Not really.)
There were train crews pulling up old sections of track.
That was slightly more interesting. (Not.)
Training was intense. But I found myself wanting more.
If I have to support these devices, I will need to know so much more.
But there is more to life than work and school.
There were sights to be seen, places to go, and things to do...
