A clear and crisp morning.
Temps in the single digits, although it doesn't feel that cold outside.
The snow pack is hard enough to walk on without sinking.
Elijah thought he heard something. (Yeah, it was me!)
Sisi Bear barked at something else. (Anything else. Everything else...)
Frost on deck.
Frost on the roof, melting as the sun's shadow moves.
Lots of moose on the loose, or the Appaloosa.
Spencer's project continues...
This construction phase included the stage, three rows of benches,
ledger boards, with support posts and joists.
A second floor was added, but that's another story. (sorry.)
In order to construct the roof, A-frames were assembled,
and inserted onto a cardboard template cut to scale.
Beams were added to tie them all together. (Still very fragile.)
While that was drying, details were added to the stage, including a curtain.
Posts and beams were installed to support the stage roof.
Here, Spencer is assembling the stage roof trusses.
More pieces were added to the roof line for structural integrity.
Discovered that tin snips worked much better
than scissors for cutting popsicle sticks.
Next came the second level benches, the stage roof, and an actor.
With the interior detail finished, it was time to transfer the roof.
And finally, the roof shingles were installed.
The attention to detail is amazing.
A true work of art.
Turn down the house lights, and action!
Project completed.
Footnote: Just before retiring for the evening,
I noticed that the temperature guage read -4 F.
I decided that the device has malfunctioned.
It is NOT that cold outside. Maybe in the teens.
(Yes, there is a difference.)
