A beautiful morning in the valley.
A perfect day for a road trip.
The rugged mountain teen and I went to Schweitzer Mountain to go skiing.
This is the White Pine Lodge.
A little cloudy on the slopes, but great conditions.
Switched over to my camera phone.
Nice view from on top. In between the clouds.
There was a race going on today.
We watched for a while.
It was pretty steep up here.
Looking down on the snowboard terrain park.
Lots of ramps, slides, and jumps.
Someone getting some air.
Spencer working on his heel-to-toe turns.
It was beautiful when the sun came out.
Chair #1. A high speed quad chair lift that really zooms.
An unusual scene. Abandoned skiis...
Actually, these belong to the racers.
Their skiis were left in the snow on purpose.
Snow won't stick to a cold ski. If they lean them
on the racks in the sun, they get warm and sticky.
The rugged mountaineer.
One of the rare moments where he was standing still.
The view from on top. When the clouds rolled in,
it was a total white-out. You couldn't see a thing. Skiing blind.
You were grateful to see a tree, before running into it.
One of my favorite runs, oddly enough, called "J.R."
Lake Pend O'Reille and Sandpoint in the distance.
Yours truly. Good form.
By today's standards, these 182's are considered "long" skiis.
(Funny, I used to ride 205's.) "Long skiis, short hair."
