Ah, Saturday. I can sleep in (for an extra 15 min.)
The rugged mountain teen girl had a softball tournament to get to.
Bus leaves at 6 AM. Up at O'dark:45...

Just slightly below freezing.
Turns out that the tournament got cancelled due to rain,
but not before the bus had gotten halfway to Lewiston.

Meanwhile, the rugged mountain old folks have some chores.
Off to the rental store to pick up a trailer.

My electrical hookup is non-standard. Oh well, no tail lights.

Then to Morrison's Ranch for some 3rd-cutting alfalfa.
In a place called Green Acres. (No, really.)

I just love this hay loader. 10 bales at a time.

Only picking up 1 ton this time. ($220.)
That should last until spring (we hope).

The sheepies smelt it coming down the driveway.

Backed 'er right in.

I'm getting better with backing up trailers.
Then again, I had some help from my navigator.

Within minutes, the kids had it all unloaded.

These bales weigh over 100 lbs. each.

The Mrs. helped me stack them.

Then she swept off the trailer.
Not bad for someone who should be in bed.
Let's see, stressed from preparing our taxes all week,
suffering from a bad fall, and now with a fever of 103.
(They don't get any more ruggeder than that!)

Discovered that Smokie/Fat Girl/Sidekick/Stupid Cat/... eats alfalfa.

They are supposed to be mousers.
(Must be further evidence of global warming.)

Even the poopies are starting to seek shelter in the shadows.

Shadows? Sunlight? Blue sky?

This warming trend is exposing the ground.

what's this? Something green? (And not a weed?!)

(Note:) Step into the South 40, close the gate behind you.
Elijah is the bear, and you are the rabbit. Pet the nice bear.
Now, run across the snowy field and see how far you get
before being taken to the ground and slimed.
Current record, about four paces.

20 or 30 more days like this, and it will be spring.

I might even have to break out the tools and finish this deck...

OOps, too late. Not today.

When blue sky turns into pink, that's quittin' time.

The glacier is receding. (That sounds funny.
Like the phrase: The peasants are revolting.)
OK, cabin fever. I'm watching ice melt...)

But wait! There's more! (Snow, that is...)
