Awoke to a blizzard. Large snowflakes, falling sideways.
Slippery, slushy roads on the way into the office.
Yup. Spring is here.
Just ask all of the birdies.
We have the only diner in town. Open 24 Hours.
These two didn't call ahead for reservations.
We think this is a Dark-Eyed Junco (junco hyemalis) Oregon female.
It snowed all morning.
It snowed into the afternoon.
And then there was the wind...
The sheepies could care less, as long as there is food to eat.
For all of its beauty, we are ready for the next season.
Spring should be just around the corner...
Buds have formed on the branches, but are on hold.
I'm not sure where these guys sleep at night.
Meanwhile, back at the office -
Looks like about 3-4 inches. More on the way.
I'll keep this one in mind for next Christmas.
Tink has that look.
Stalking her prey.
Stealthily climbing into position, and then ...
"Yeah, right!"
This is a male House Finch- Carpodacus Mexicanus
This looks like the same shot I took back in November.
It stopped snowing. A cool breeze came into the valley.
The sun came out briefly.
It just feels warmer, even though it isn't really.
I'm still not shoveling the deck.
The kids had a play to attend at school.
We took a short drive to see the sunset on these mountains.
On the way through town, we saw this specialized snow cat.
A local communications company uses it to get to their mountain-top towers.
Last week, some kids had stolen it for a joy ride.
Here is that sunset...
And a full moon on this Good Friday.
(Not a bad shot for a hand-held, 1 sec. exposure with a telephoto.
I know, I know. Use the tripod, Luke.)
