Frosty fog.
The fog swirled about and covered the valley floor.
It left a thick coat of frost on everything it touched.
The Mrs. went for a hike, in spite of her injuries.
More snow slid off the barn roof.
This will stick around for a while,
since it is always in the shadows.
I fed the sheepies.
And Rambo.
Yes, Sisi Bear, you, too!
Your mission, Jim, is to solve the mystery
of the tripping circuit breaker.
These water bowl heaters are connected to the barn with an extension cord.
The GFCI tripped. Water froze. No drinkie.
Process of elimination. Unplug the extension cord, reset GFCI.
Test light. Works, no trippy. Plug cord back in, pop.
Dug up the cord.
Uh, oh. That can't be good. Something chewed on the wire.
My guess is that there is a field mouse out there
with a really bad headache. Mystery solved.
We decided that Ruthie could use some exercise and companionship.
Put her back in with the South 40 gang.
Elijah takes one on the chin.
The poopies seemed happy to be together again,
and ran off to go play...
The Rugged Mountain Birder thinks this might be
a Hairy Woodpecker (picoides villosus), female.
Ruthie is happy to be guarding something again.
Even if it is only sheepies that don't move.
