Cassin's Finch (carpodacus cassinii)
The happy couple on a dinner date.
A blustery type day. But getting warmer.
The snow belt is tightening.
This pile is a little shorter.
Here's where I punched through the ice.
Most of the puddle drains underneath the snow.
Today's mission, Jim, is to install a new pipe on the pump.
First, remove the pump from the drum.
The original design called for PVC pipe.
There's the problem. No suckie.
Field modification #1. Use 1" galvanized pipe instead.
Some adjustments may be required.
Always use proper safety equipment.
After carefully removing all of the metal filings,
the new pipe was inserted into the pump.
Moments later, the pump is back in service.
Meanwhile, the Mrs. was busy potting some willows.
And the apple trees. Each one has four varieties, including Granny Smith,
Golden Delicious, Honeycrisp, Fuji, and/or Gala. (Self-pollinating.)
Which is a relief, because I wouldn't know how to go about that...
This rain storm just missed us.
The weatherman is promising us that spring will officially begin this weekend.
It is supposed to get into the 60's. OOOooooo.
Break out the sunscreen and the lounge chairs...
